Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program

The UPOP sophomore year is highly recommended as preparation for the elite Bernard M. Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program (GEL), which is for juniors and seniors.

The GEL program develops tomorrow's engineering leaders. Each year, more than 120 MIT undergraduates learn about engineering leadership through its innovative experiential and theoretical coursework, and practice and reflection exercises. GEL's approach is cohort-based, highly interactive, and continually shaped by input from students, educators and industry.

About 2/3 of those accepted to the GEL Year 1 and GEL Year 2 programs are former UPOP sophomores.
