UPOP welcomes all MIT students and seeks to be a program where they can all feel they belong. We ensure that our application process and recruitment efforts incorporate no diversity barriers for acceptance into the program. Throughout our educational curriculum, we strive for the success of all our students regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, culture, or political affiliation. We are also proactive about seeking faculty, speakers, mentors, volunteers, and others who represent the students we serve. This is an ongoing process.



The UPOP office is open and welcoming to all the students we serve. Everyone is valued and respected for the diversity of backgrounds they come from and we seek to support the whole student. Creating a community where we can all share in and learn from one another is imperative to our mission and goals.
