Sponsorship Policies

UPOP event sponsorship offers companies unique visibility and long-term relationship building with an elite group of MIT students, including access to UPOP sophomores, and UPOP junior and UPOP senior alums. Sponsored UPOP events are designed to facilitate long-term recruiting pipelines between sponsors and UPOP students. UPOP students, in turn, benefit from exclusive access to partnering employers.

In this vein, UPOP strives to facilitate sponsorship sessions that meet each organizations' goals, with some important provisos. Please note the following exclusions from both annual and ad hoc event sponsorship:

  • UPOP-sponsored events will be advertised, and open to, only current UPOP sophomores, or UPOP junior or senior alums. (An exception is a specific event where the annual sponsor is partnering with another MIT program in addition to UPOP.)
  • UPOP cannot book rooms on or off campus for companies wishing to engage with students who are not current UPOP students or UPOP alums (includes special events, on-campus tabling, demos, interviews, or similar.)
  • UPOP cannot book space on campus for non-sponsoring companies and other organizations
  • Interview rooms: UPOP understands the challenges of employers wishing to interview on campus - and the lack of available space at MIT for long-term meetings. Alas, even UPOP has difficulty booking classrooms for our own programming! For this reason, at present, all companies (including UPOP sponsors) are encouraged to book their interview rooms through the MIT Career Development Center
